I have only just discovered Kathy Slack, author of From The Veg Patch: 10 veg. 10 ways. 100 simple, seasonal recipes that make vegetables the star of the show. We met at the Rock Oyster food, books and music festival in Cornwall in July and since then I’ve been following her on Instagram (@gluts_gluttony) and really enjoy her veg recipes. She has a new book out next year Rough Patch which is part memoir and tells the story of how she got into organic gardening after burning out as an advertising industry executive. After a breakdown and depression Kathy retrained as a chef, started to host supper clubs and wrote a food blog now a Substack here

I want to recommend her really simple board bean and feta frittata summer recipe: it’s quick, includes my favourite bean (sorry butter beans) and looks more impressive than it is to make on the culinary scale (and we all know I am down around a 4/10 on the cooking front).
