How to get your protein levels right, boost gut health & beat inflammation
Podcast report: Dr Rupy Aujla talks us through his dos & don’ts for easy, healthy, day-to-day eating; plus listeners' dilemmas get the Lorraine & Trish treatment - buckle up people…
For this week’s Sunday podcast interview we invited back to the show Dr Rupy Aujla. No stranger to Postcards from Midlife shores, the charming and chatty young Rupy has been on the podcast before and was also a guest speaker at our two-day Live Show at the Business Design Centre in London a couple of years ago. Yes we are fans - we both cook all the time using his cookery books (see links below) but when his new recipe book Healthy High Protein, landed on our doormats from his publisher a month ago we booked him in again as we thought who better to separate fact from fiction when it comes to protein because frankly, we’ve both been rather confused about it lately as there is so much conflicting info flying around about it.
So if you’d like to find out why recent research has changed Rupy’s mind on exactly how much protein we should be eating then do listen in. We also chat about our favourite protein-boosting recipes for veggies and meat eaters, discover what it really does for your body (clue it’s way more than just muscle building), discover smart hacks to eat more and make it affordable as well as what you really need to know about protein shakes and supplements.
Later in the week, our Wednesday How To Win At Midlife episode dropped, in which we turn agony aunts and use our years of life, research and journalism experience to share advice and resources for listeners’ relationship, family and career dilemmas. Is it OK to call out a friend's bad behaviour? Should you always put your teens' needs before your own and where to start when you wake up one day and decide you want to live a different life? Juicy!
