Quick wardrobe refresh: Crisp white T shirts are a must for an easy summer look with jeans, wide leg trousers or skirts and a fine or chunky necklace to finish. I buy a couple of new ones every year as they get rather grubby (armpit stains, suncream smears, general goop). Of course I don’t just chuck them out, I keep those ones to wear under shirts or jumpers in the cooler months and when they eventually get too worn out I’ll cut them up for cleaning cloths. Anyhow, the best ones I’ve found are from Cos, their ‘Clean Cut’ T-shirt (top left) is made from organic cotton jersey and costs £30. And my favourite V neck is Uniqlo’s 100% cotton Supima V Neck T shirt, £14.90. It’s really soft and has a lovely drape effect. And while we’re on the subject of white, white jeans are a thing this summer - don’t think I’ve owned a pair since my Levi’s 501s back in the early 90s - but I’ve just bought a pair of H&M’s Barrel High Jeans, £37.99, (top right) and am loving them. I’m definitely not brave enough to go top to toe white, but a denim blue shirt or silky top is a crisp, stylish match.
