Friday's list of lovely things to browse, make or buy
Here's a few little treasures we think you'll like as summertime looms...

Look at these little cuties from Newlyn ceramicist Lucie Sivika for sea swim fans (like me). They would make great presents for summer birthdays and are hand thrown and hand painted in Lucie’s Cornish studio. She has an Etsy shop but Bude gallery The Jaunty Seagull stocks them too and prices range from £20 to £44 depending on size. Czech Lucie lives in Penzance with her family but she studied at the Czech Republic’s premiere art and ceramic school in Bechyne for four years before moving to Prague. Whilst building her own practice, Lucie also worked with NGOs in the Czech Republic, making pottery with the elderly in hospitals, curating workshops for children in orphanages and special needs schools. Her Cornish pottery is inspired by the outdoor swimmers seen across the Penzance and the Newlyn coastline, where I occasionally swim in the summer.
