Feeling inexplicably overwhelmed? Don't worry, we've got you!
If January is proving taxing here are our six favourite tips to beat stress & overwhelm and give you more energy. Plus some resources for a mindset reset

Maybe it is all the annoying ‘new year, new you’ chatter, perhaps it’s the belated impact of hectic festive season organising, or the emotional toll of my older student children coming and going again or possibly it’s just the weird woo-woo vibes of the recent Wolf Moon. Who knows but right now I am feeling unexpectedly overwhelmed. I’m doing dry January (boring), exercising as usual and chatting to mates even though I have happily adopted JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out) but even so I’m feeling unusually weary and anxious, which is unlike me but it seems I am not alone.
Many women on our private Facebook group for Postcards From Midlife say they’re experiencing this melancholy January feeling too. So what can we do about it? Well me and Trish haven’t interviewed hundreds of medical, wellness, spiritual, therapy and health experts for nothing you know! We’ve got tips and tactics coming out of our ears and we’ve tested what works for us and could work for you so we’re going to share some practical advice today. The key though, and this is important, is to start small and focus on what is doable during the cold, grey days at the start of the year when it is still dark by 4pm.
So here are six achievable changes you could make to feel healthier, happier and have more energy which will gain pace the more you do them over time - and also some really great ideas from our private Facebook group of older wise women who’ve got your back too.
